Then there are the abuses...
In Response To: Re: My Pet Peeve is...... ()

A couple years ago I shipped this guy 3 ashtrays that totalled about $900.00. I packed each one in bubble wrap in peanuts in #4 Priority boxes and then put all three in a big box with peanuts all around.

About three weeks later I sent him an Email about two trays I knew he wanted. His response was, "Thanks, but my wife was livid about what I previously bought and I haven't told her they were all broke when they arrived, so what do I do now?" That seemed odd, If I got a box with $900.00 of smashed glass the seller would have heard from me the minute I got them.

I told him I found it beyond belief that they were broke. I sent him a Form 1000 and told him to take ashtrays and the packing material to file his claim at the Post Office.

I am 99.9999999999999999% sure he had to have broke them himself to get his money back.

Post Office denied the claim saying there was absolutely no damage to the boxes and they felt he was trying to scam them.

Of course, he was really irate and tried to bend me over for a refund...Sorry, Charlie..... but this stuff goes on.

And another thing...insurance is to protect the seller..check your postal regs...AND self insuring is definitely illegal!!
