Re: Are there Apache Chips?
In Response To: Re: Are there Apache Chips? ()

Hi Gary,
I know that there have been plenty of chips that have been mis-attributed over the years. Sometimes it's an honest mistake, sometimes wishful thinking, sometimes to raise the price of the chip. sad

The large crowns weren't picture chips, they definitely said Apache. Unfortunately they didn't say Las Vegas. There are always those that will be skeptical...which is not a bad thing, because it usually gets more research done! grin

One of the blue swizzle sticks in the picture below says "stolen from Apache Bar" on it. It doesn't say Las Vegas on it. However...it came from an estate sale in Las Vegas (according to an ebay seller who lived in Las Vegas), and other swizzle sticks that came in the same lot (also pictured below) said "See Boulder Dam at AL'S BAR 111 So. First Street Las Vegas Nevada" and "Mission Bar". There was a Mission Bar across Fremont Street from the Apache Casino. I can't prove that our swizzle came from the Apache in Las Vegas, but the circumstancial evidence is pretty good. grin
