At the Chicago Gathering, we had a discussion about a chip from the Mint. The Chip Rack lists two chips that are very similar. N1916 & V3069 (the latter is a CJ). The consensus was the chip being looked at was a CJ (that was pretty clear), however the discussion was on which of 3 chips (the 6th, 7th, or 8th issue) listed in the Campiglia and Wells book was the chip we were lookig at. They are all CJs, but the colors described vary slightly:

6th Issue is Beige w/ 3 Rust Inserts
7th Issue is Tan w/3 Dk Orange Inserts
8th Issue is Cream w/3 Orange Inserts

Does anybody have any suggestions on how to determine which of these a given chip is. Before the barrage of 'how about a scan', like most of the world, I don't have a scanner. Besides I am more interested in how to differientiate between one chip and another.
