John, the method they are teaching involves several steps to take the randomness out of the roll. The first of these being the set, which if done correctly can lock in the bottom die(one big advantage). Unfortunatley this can only be done if the bottom die stops before it hits the egg crates. If the pit people are doing their job they won't let anyone get away with this. This rule is not enforced on every shooter, every roll, only when the suspect a shooter is trying to alter the randomness of the roll. This is nothing new, it's pretty much how the game has always been ran. It's just that sometimes the crews get distracted(lazy) and the pit or surveillance has to wake them up. Regards, Jim
