Whilst there are strong arguments that the terms amount to the same thing, when I took over the club 'fakes' page I asked questions on this and the club bb about any changes that would be useful.
There was a concensus that 'codes' should be used to identify which category of 'fake/fantasy/counterfeit' each chip would fall into.
In the absence of any formal definitions being put forward by the club or anyone else, we debated the possible descriptions here.
While they may not be the best 'terms', the purpose was to clearly distinguish chips bearing a name or logo of a real casino between designs which were an exact or almost exact copy of a real chip, and those which didnt look like anything ever issued.
That way, a collector would know whether he might need to investigate further if a particular chip is genuine or counterfeit.
