Aaron, I wouldn't have a clue...

I said, "OK, you win." I can figure out some of things like doing a bunch of calculations and getting your own phone number or SS# at the end. I'm not good enough for stuff like this...

Apparently questions like this are asked in advanced Math Graduate classes...I have no idea but here is his solution and it makes not a great deal of sense to me.

A- set the 2 distance equations; 1 for velocity 1 for acceleration, equal to each other. then solve for time.
b - accel x time is max velocity
c - distance is velocity times time
d - to find time to stop you need the negative acceleration.

(need a time to stop, could assume same deceleration)

assuming same deceleration

from my calculation the bike is going double the speed of the car
e - car will be straight line and bike a parabola

distance x = x0 v1t 1/2at^2

use this for both vehicles

a 200/9 s
b 200/3 m/s
c 20000/27 m
d depends how you want to do deceleration
e time on x velocity on y, car is flat line at y=120

bike is parabola y=3x^2

God Bless, the Really Smart People.

Stay warm it's ugly out here,

Mark
