I do not see them as being a threat to the hobby.
I wish they were not being made, but they ARE!
1.There is no way to stop the people that are making the brass core marbleized chips.
If you know a way please toss it out here.

2. There is no way you can tell people what they can or can not buy and what they want to collect.

RE: Repaired and altered chips.
I am the 1st one to say repaired and altered chips are a major threat to our hobby.

There is no way to stop someone from repairing or altering chips.
If you know a way then toss it out here.

I have some marbleized brass cores.
I have some repaired and altered chips.
My intentions for all buys was to stay close to the people doing them, so I can educate the rest of the collectors. If we know whats going on, we are smarter and better off than we would be if we did not know.

David has a web site on repaired chips ready as soon as the Clubs law suit is settled. We have put many hours and many $ into the site.
Hopefully it can help educate collectors.
