Another Very Nice Note Andy!

Information for Others:

That is an 1869 issue 5 Dollar note featuring Andrew Jackson at left and a generic pioneer family in the center. The pioneer is holding an ax, which gave this note it's nickname 'The Wood Chopper'. Also, the same company (Crane) made the paper for that note that makes the paper for the notes in your pocket right now! Their Motto: "Worth the Paper its Written On!"

Our money is bland because we see it everyday and they say familiarity breads contempt. United States money is one of the most ornate in its design. Just look closely into the intricate and complex lines of the designs, a feature that for many years made it difficult to counterfeit. The fine detailing now is done with ‘micro-printing’. I agree at first glance our money is ugly and bland but the Bureau of Printing and Engraving has resisted change for many years because our money is the MOST recognizable and trusted worldwide. Of our notes the earlier ones like Andy has shown (he’s displayed several) are (in my opinion) our most beautiful notes.

Thanks Andy for sharing those notes….

… but since they are just old junk notes, I would be happy to extend my offer of double face value for this note as well! vbg rofl vbg
