NCR: Any Advice from Stamp Collectors?

Does anybody have any advice on the best way to get rid of a medium sized collection of stamps and first-day covers? The collection includes a roughly 60% complete Liberty album from the late 70's and some loose stamps and plate blocks from that era.

From the way things look on eBay, there's not a great demand for collections such as the one I have, which doesn't include anything terribly rare. It does have lots of older stamps in cancelled condition, but I'm sure they're fairly common ones.

I'm considering using most of the loose, uncancelled stamps from the 60's and 70's for postage since the eBay fees would likely eat up most of the market value, and it appears that face value might exceed market when selling an album full of unused stamps from the 60's or 70's. Am I way off base, here?
