I still think that storage that way

would cause both sides to discolor--I liked your laying on one side to cool idea better.
The lead weight didn't come out of the chip. It is still in there. Just the inlay came out, but I could punch the weight out, I guess.
I think that darn thing is in storage (heaven forbid!) so it will have to be in a new thread when I do find it. I have it with other broken chips, like a slug core and another that broke through an insert, a broken Bud Jones, to show people how they are made. So you see, I have always been interested in how these things get made. I've had these broken chips for years to take to shows, but now we don't do that many shows. I'll just scan all of them for people to see. I think they are pretty interesting.
