The safe will track the room temperature

If the room is 93 degrees, inside the safe will warm to that temp as well, but slowly. I'd find a way to get it into a cooler environment.

My father once had a piano moved to our basement. The piano movers said "yes, we can do it. But if you ever want it back out, call someone else..." grin.

As long as it's less than 500 pounds or so, and you have a stairway with clearance, you should be able to put down a skid and slow its descent with ropes and pulleys. Much more difficult to go the other way, fighting gravity and friction. You won't have to worry about thieves making off with the safe in the basement either.
