cover the lid on the scanner with an opaque material, e.g., truck mat, black towel. Light energy is entering, and leaving your scanner. My images are not fair to compare with consumer electronic protects. I do my scanning off the clock with company equipment. We use a Seamans, 3D, Adiabetic scanner. It's intended use is scanning, and correcting Terrian Model errors. Cost: $150,000.00

*No spindle on a caliper, just busting your chops. no malace intended.
