Micrometer scan - cheap and easy

Mark's post from yesterday went poof, but I still wanted to share the idea with everyone. This isn't new, or novel, but there are many new people in the hobby that I think might benefit from the post and information.

As discussed in a previous post, the question was about measuring the size of chips. Here is a quick, easy and inexpensive way to accomplish an accurate measurement of chips.

The micrometer in the scan can be picked up for around $5.00. They're sold all over the place. In fact, I believe I purchased this one a few years back at Big Lots for around $3.99.

You'll notice in the scan that the measurement of the chip is 43 mm.
