Ok, I played around a LOT and after adjusting color saturation, shadow depth, and a whole host of other fine tunings, I was not abe to make the H mold sharper and more visible. Mind you, this is only using the software that came with the scanner. HP software does have the option of pushing the image directly into another program. But to me, thats one more step, good or bad.

Now arises the question of can the epson image also be imported directly inot another graphics program without saving it first. Are there any other new epson users that know the answer? I know users with the old epson program can because it brings up twain right away. David, is that right?

As it stands right now, epson seems to be my choice. That'sassuming it canmake resectible scans of 3D items.
