Blame the BeanCounters!

The real reason for no $5 tables is not JUST because they CAN charge $10-25 per hand (enough people willing to do it), it's because the BeanCounters figure out profit margin for average dealer, cost to employ, plug it into the desired forcast to make stockholders happy (and get big bonuses for Execs), and then out spits the minimum number of playing hours they need (and at which rate) from their floor...

What is missing in their equations, is the people that prefer to start at $5, and will LEAVE THE PROPERTY if they don't find one. They incorrectly assume that player will just go lose it all on slots, at their property. I make it a point to complain to Pit personel when I can't find $5 tables, let them know I'm staying at the hotel, and that I'm walking out the door because they don't want my money. I was once at a $5 craps game, when they tried to make it a $10 one; I suggested loudly to my fellow players that they pass the dice until it's back down to $5 - everybody was with me, and the table stayed at $5...
