Whether you knew beforehand or not will always be in question. The true questions is:

Now that you are aware that the books are incorrect, and there is definitive proof that these same chips were in use and on the tables in Canada just a few months ago, Will you continue to advertise them as Vegas chips on Ebay?

Is the answer is no, the problem is solved.

Surely you understand why members need to look out for the best interests of the hobby and by misrepresenting chips it can bring no good. We are just looking out for the future of Chip Collecting.
