There have been several people who have tried chip repairs with less than perfect results. I remember a few years ago one guy was set up at the convention and didn't appear to really know chip collecting very well. He was trying to repair hot stamped illegal club chips by filling in the missing HS with a gold pen. Results looked really horrible and wouldn't fool anyone.
