Re: Cracks in the Riverboat Gambling armor?

Just like any other business, there are those who know how to make it and those who don't have a clue.It is not the Casino who needs to clean up their image but the local area and the local townspeople. The local area is getting tax money they never had before. How are they spending it.
Take for example the 3 casinos in southern Indiana. The Argosy is huge and draws a great crowd from Cincinnati. The money going to the local city can be seen in many improvements everywhere. The Grand Victoria has never had strong people in marketing or planning. The boat now looks to be going downhill. Not the fault of the industry but of the people they employ. Further down the road is Belterra sitting amid the corn fields. But oh what a happening place New hotel towers, great restaurants, exciting casino with a class of gamblers not seen in the other casinos. They have an eye for detail and they are generating increasing tax dollars and always are supporting the local area.
The local areas need to take a bigger part in their own destiny.
