It would be fun to know who else started out with no knowledge on collecting.

I did! When I was planning my 1st Vegas trip a few years back I did some research on The Flamingo, a Casino I really wanted to visit while I was there. I had remembered seeing an Al Capone autograph on eBay many years back when I was still collecting Autographs. So I did a search on Bugsy Seigel hoping to find some artifacts or an autograph.

I did an eBay search and found the chip pictured below and a matching token. I think the chip was won from Dice702. In the winning email he had a standard statement asking If you were interested in collecting chips...So I asked for the info. He directed me to the ccgtcc.

In the meantime, while waiting for my chip to arrive, I perused eBay. By the time the chip arrived a week or two later, I was already a ccgtcc member waiting for my card to arrive and had 20 - 30 bids on chips.

It wasn't untill a year later that I even bought my 1st US Guide.

Talk about a slippery-slope indeed! vbg
