Re: DETAIL PICTURE

Gene - Yes, I took "I think you have way too much time on your hands" the wrong way. Earlier today, I was using a computer at work that blocks most pictures and all the little graphics on The Chip Board. My employer has the computers set up this way to prevent us mischievous employees from viewing porn on the internet. So, I didn't see the little smiley face in your post. This misunderstanding is my fault, sorry about that. Now I'm at home with my own computer, and I'm free to see every picture and graphic The Chip Board has to offer (as well as all that internet porn my employer tries to keep my tender eyes away from!).

BACK TO THE BUD JONES "ERROR" CHIPS:

I like this thread because I've learned these "error" chips are more common that I would have guessed. What do you think of suggesting to THE CHIP RACK boys to include a note in the next edition of their book. The note would be listed next to each chip with a known error of this type. It could be something along the lines of "Note: Several different varieties/errors of this chip exist. Some chips were manufactured with worn dies, resulting in one or more letters of the text within the "coin" center of the chip appearing incorrect. For example, the word "NEVADA" appears to be "NFVADA". These chips are not uncommon, and are worth only a nominal premium over the correctly manufactured chip".

Of course, I'm the first to admit that I don't even know if all the information in my "note" suggestion is accurate. This is just an idea, and I'd like to hear what other chip collectors think.
