Good Question Gene. My answer is:

Because, from an eBay standpoint, they are. I know that's not a proper chippers answer, but most of these, you hardly ever see on eBay. These used to sell for $7 to $9, and these days, on the rare times they're seen on eBay, they're selling for $30+ up to $80 each.

I'm sure much of that is due to the poker boom, but I think even moreso, there are more collectors collecting WSOP chips these days, so many of these are in the hands of collectors. 5 years ago, WSOP buy-in lammers were pretty easy to come by. Not so any more.

Again, I know that's not the perfect chippers answer. I'm not gathering this data from TCR or Campiglia, but more on an objective view of sales over the years of these particular chips.

You'll see my next set labeled the same way, pretty much. The next batch of chips I'm selling are WPO chips (starting this afternoon), and most of these, I've never even seen on eBay before. since most of the chips in my collection aren't even listed in the books, I'd sure love to hear any suggestions you or other more experienced chippers would have in selling them (description wise, as far as rarity).

Thanks for your question and input! I've learned a lot from this board!
