By looking at the auction I can see how you concluded that the shipping would be AU$2.00.
But it does state:

Shipping Cost - AU$2.00
Services Available - Regular
Available to Australia Only
Will ship to Worldwide.

I'm thinking the "Available to Australia Only" will be enough to cover his back in the case of a dispute. He certainly should have listed the cost of shipping to the US in the auction though.
