The chip that started it all...

Hey Steve,

Alexi is seven years old now.

Little did I imagine that this very chip would launch a full time business and become our livlihood.

When I ordered them back in '98 I thought I was so clever to order 402 of them (she was born on April 2nd so I thought the LTD 4-0-2 was such a brilliant idea). But after we gave them out to all our friends and family I had about 370 of them left (yep, not many family or friends huh?). At that point my 402 idea was looking pretty foolish. But the smartest thing I ever did was to send out 250 of them to our best chip collecting customers of which you were one. I gave them away not because I was expecting any one else to want one but to annouce Alexi's birth as well as get rid of some of the 370 chips we had left (after all what else was I going to do with that many chips?). Before I knew it chip collectors were calling with "My daughter is about to be married", "my son's bar-mitzva", "a business card chip for my company". It took a few years but with the poker craze of 2003 it eventually turned into a full time business.

So thanks for asking Steve... I probably told you more than you wanted to know but this chip was literally the birth of a business.
