Its been a long debate...

Gene and I have been debating these chips for years.

I'm sure you are aware there have been some green "MSC" chips found with the "SS Monte Carlo" address rubber stamped on top of the hot stamp. This brought about a debate on why this is so. Was it to mislead collectors, I don't think so. The chips were selling for $5 each (out of Hawaii originally) and the stamping looked old. It seemed like alot of work to have the stamp made and then wear the chips to look old only to sell them for $5 each.

At any rate, then the card was pulled from the Mason files, the Muskogee Social Club came back and everyone thought case closed. I say not closed. There is no record for the "green" color MSC chip. Until recently, only the green chips were found with the rubber stamp.

At least year's convention, I saw a rubber stamped yellow MSC chip as well, I don't remember who had it though.

Looking at your reply, I wonder if this Katleman guy has something to do with the SS Monte Carlo chips since he is out west? This is the first I've seem of his name.

I think the chips are somehow associated with the S.S. Monte Carlo, at least the green ones. I believe they either moved from New York or were a separate order which Howdy does not have the records for.
