In my years of experince being involved in medical research, I can personally say I have seen many times where a fresh view by someone new can make all of the difference in the world. There have been many a significant discoveries by a "newbie" in about any research disipline you can come up with.

To name just one, the discovery of REM sleep, by Aserinsky, who was Nathaniel Klietman's graduate student. Pun intended, it was right in front of Kleitman's eyes, but yet it wasn't until the inexperienced Aserinsky came in with some fresh ideas of his own that the monumental discovery was made.

Kleitman was the original "Grandfather" of sleep research and the understanding of sleep physiology.

I couldn't agree with you more that visitors to the chipboard come for many reasons, none of which are a daily dose of stress, tension and arguing. They come for the knowledge they can pick up as well as the friendships.

I have no problem with you questioning the validity of David's results if you feel there are inaccuracies. I do think you should have held off until you had specifics to share with us.

I did want to point out that the validity of what one presents has nothing to do with when they join a club, or if they happen to sell chips. I'd hate to have to tell someone not to pay attention to what Doug Saito writes because he sells chips.
