Fair questions. I paid the gouged shipping and handling charges in order to preserve my perfect eBay feedback rating, in advance of negotiating with Vic about a reduction in shipping charges. Vic, however, got a negative from from me when he refused to refund the unused shipping charges.

There was nothing in his ad which warned that he wouldn't combine shipping, but that's the sort of thing that would make me avoid his auctions and trade offers in the future. Up to that point in time, every previous eBay chip dealer offered to combine shipping on multiple wins, usually without being asked.

So, if I was paying a buck eighty-five shipping and handling for each chip, with no chance of refund, I asked that he ship the chips in nine separate envelopes, to at least justify some of the high cost. He refused, saying that nobody would do that. As it turned out, he sent them in a single white business envelope for the lowest possible postage of $1.29 - USPS First Class. He had insisted he wouldn't combine shipping, but he did - and kept the spare change for himself.

This situation has been explained to him many times, yet he is still unable to understand why what he did was wrong. His attitude was formerly "hey, I screwed you, get over it." He has since changed his ways, offering much more reasonable postage if and when he does put something up for auction, but he refuses to make good on his prior bad deals. As an added indication of his lack of character, he got rid of his previous eBay account in favor of his current one, in order to hide the two negative feedbacks he got.

Have been trying to explain it to him for many months, but he's a little short on the gray matter. Calling him a fool probably gives him more credit than he deserves.

CC+GTSS stands for Casino Chip and Gaming Tokens Collectors Club, which is a national membership and quite a few members post here. The member I was referring to in prior posts was Charles Kaplan, whose round robin of excellent condition chips was ruined when Vic took out the good ones and put in the garbage ones.
