When a casino goes out of business.

I'm hoping that someone on this board can help me.

I have been trying to put together a set of casino chips for home play for the past 2 months or so. My main activity in doing this has been to search e-bay just about daily. In the course of these 2 months I have become fascinated with this whole idea of collecting chips.

It makes a whole lot of sense to me to buy chips that will appreciate ie. collectibles. Obviously when a casino goes out of business this instantly caps the number of chips out there from that casino. This has to be a good thing.

I have read that when a casino in Nevada goes out of business that they are required to destroy the chips. I am trying to figure out what the rules are about this in both Nevada and other parts of both this country and the world. Does anybody know about this and how to find out more about it.

I am also thinking about all those chips from the casinos in Europe when in 2002 they switched to the Euro. This must have made all thise chips obsolete. What happened to these chips. Is there any way to get a hold of them. Does anyone know who to contact about this?

Thanks,

Alan
