The St David's Bay is still a minimalist hotel, but there are a couple of large sofas and chairs in the lobby but that's about it! Nice views from the balcony but it was a little overcast this morning so our idea of breakfast on the balcony didn't come off!

Seems the whole bay area of Cardiff is catering for the quality retaurants, bars etc while the centre of town is the disco/superpub area.

It will be interesting to see if there are more Hard Rocks - for the size of Cardiff, the Grosvenor had lots of spaces on the tables late on Saturday evening - back at the Westcliff (with more tables) it is very difficult to get a chair on busy evenings, so I'm not sure that Cardiff could support more casinos - bars yes, casinos no. There were more people just having a drink at the Grosvenor than were playing at the tables!
