Book values only mean what someone else paid.
In Response To: Re: CHIP VALUES? Wrong. ()

I looked the chips in question up in "The Official US Casino Chip Price Guide" The Value quoited is what the book says, he did list the book where he got the value. While the TCR list the chip cheeper, is the TCR LAW? Everyone should have both Jim's book and the latiest TCR, and use them only as a reference. I have seen several chips go much higher then either book has them listed, and other chips go for much less. Like someone else said, the buyer sets the value.
Atleast in this instance he listed a value and the book where he got the value. I get much more upset about the folks that list Harrah's items and say they are from the 30's and 40's when they say Reno/Lake Tahoe, the casino did not open in Tahoe until 55.
