the actual bets are tracked. The pit boss can't watch every player every hand. I think it also takes away the pit boss "befriending" a player to increase his minimum bet, length of play etc. on his record so that the player might qualify for comps that the computer tracking might not have him qualified for. I don't know for sure but that is what I see the mind play thing doing.
