Speaking of ivory chips...

...My friend Bill O'Day and myself were at an old western collectible show in Grass Valley a week or so ago and saw a bunch of dealers with a bunch of ivory chips for sale--I mean hundereds being offered at many dealer tables.

Being that neither one of us know anything about ivory chips (fake or otherwise,) we decided to pass on all that we saw but sure wished we could have taken advantage of what we considered some great prices but just didn't want to be taken to the cleaners.

I remember reading a thread a while back that warned us about fakes and took it to heart. Prices ranged from around $25.00 and up, but most peaking out at slightly over $100.00 or so. Some beautiful designs and different shapes.

Oh well, just thought I would post this note as it just came to mind and I couldn't get to sleep.

Without describing any of the chips, do you ivory collectors think we did right?
