Jay; What would be incorrect about describing an "old" chip in "new" condition vs. an old chip in "used" condition?

The description "NEW" adopted by the CC & GTCC does not mean New Issue.

Archie...

I am not saying that it is incorrect, using the club's "official" terminology. My issue is that the word "NEW" (adopted by the CC & GTCC) is a very ambiguous term that already had a universally accepted definition within the hobby, which is that of a recently issued chip. If you ask every member of the club what the term "NEW" chip means to them, I'd bet that 90% answer that it is a recent issue. In my opinion, it was a poor choice and for that reason I also believe that it will prove to be a deterrent to club members using the "official" club terminology.
