Re: I therefore vote NO. Ive got tons of other

David; I would be interested in seeing some of your 90 degree alignments on the outter white portions ... not the metal centers. The position of the metal centers have nothing to do with this subject under discussion.

One must understand the construction of the plastic injection mold. This is not a random rotation of printing as the two sides are NOT "printed independently" and do NOT "obviously move around during the process".

Underneath the white plastic, in the case of the $1 Harrahs chip, is a plastic core in the center. The color of the plastic core determines the color of the letters seen on the finished surface. This core has letters and denominations in high relief ... much like a coin. The white plastic is then poured (or injected) onto the plastic core and the raised devices (letters and denominations) show through the finished surface. If you will look at the edge, you will see a black diamond. That too, is a raised part of the black plastic core in the center of the chip that shows through the finished product.

So the black lettering "Harrahs" that appears to be on the surface of the chip is really not. What you are seeing is the raised portion of the underlying black center core. The chip is not two halves that have rotated.

For those of you who have one of my A.C. catalogs (even going back a few years) can see an example of this center core which I've termed "slug insert" in the illustrated Caesars section, prior to the plastic injection process.
