eBay Vigilantes, NYT Dreamin', Chip Ethicists NCR

WARNING...real long, sorry. Here's a situation to kick around since WPT is another rerun tonight. grin I was reading an email newsletter from a big big time eBay dealer of movie paper the other day when I ran across a newsletter club member post that I thought I'd pass on. The poster had a copy and paste of an article from the New York Times about eBay vigilantes:

Five months ago, Klaus Priebe, a soft-spoken building contractor who said he was sick and tired of fraud on eBay, decided it was time to catch the cheaters at their game. ... In one recent auction, he bid as much as $2.5 million on a telescope worth no more than...

I thought that the piece was too long and of only middling interest in our ongoing cussin' and discussion of eBay antics. Exsqueeeeeze Me? Yes friends, you can actually buy this NYT thingie for only $2.95! http://query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=F30A12FA3A550C738EDDAA0894DC404482 I know, I know...stampede!!! rofl

I've already decided what I'm gonna do but I thought this would be interesting to find out what this most ethical body of folks has to say about this wierdness. I could just lift the entire article from the newsletter and post it here and just moon Jason Blair's old buddies. Like they say back there, Hey, I gotcha $2,95 right cheer. Would that really be wrong, in effect stealing the property of the NYT. What, they own the freaking news nowdays? Sheesh! If I paid the $2.95 I wonder if I post it here so's you all could read it for free. Would one of our journalist posters care to comment on this. The fellas in the club that make their living in this calling are pretty squared away (even the ones with mohawks!) and we'd like to hear their take. What's a chipper to do?
