I agree on the mis-strike name. It should have been culled from the order. A lot of us would call it an error and thats OK with me also.
That said:
If I was offered my choice of the two as a gift, I would take the mis-strike/error. This would be an easy choice for me. I love "different" chips and I have never collected with any thought of future values of the chips I collect.
