I say different players tastes are different. Play with both sets. You'll figure out which one you like better. Me personally, I hate the sound of Paulsons scraping against each other. I have weird ears I guess. I am pretty sensitive to those type of sounds, ie chalkboard scratching and even paper being ripped.
However, Paulsons are easier to do chip tricks with, since they are more balanced. But over time they got chipped and wear out. CICs used to fall out on me. I guess my poker buddies and I are a bunch of savages who abuse poker chips. We now use Bud Jones metal inserts, which are virtually indestructible.

Just use the set YOU like. In the end, thats all that matters.
