Prior to me adding this chip to my collection, it was part of a very well-known European collection (with the dried-up tape). If I knew how to remove the tape with being 100% certain that whatever I use will not damage the pigment in the denomination... I would do it. I would also attempt to do so if I knew I could replace the piece in case I damaged it in the process.
