Having our IP addresses exposed probably is a risk that we need not take. You can set up the board differently.

The "proper steps" - be serious. Firewalls can be beaten - it's not that hard to fool a firewall. How do you think a web page gets through? And a firewall will stop a determined person how? It won't - believe me.

Now suppose someone traced the IP addresses and discovered that people were posting from work? Hmmmm - that could be real bad because if you work for ABC Corp, I doubt they'd like the fact that you were posting from work. Think about it!
