Some figures from the UK
In Response To: I would love to know ...... ()

In a year, I send out about 5,000 packages.

About 3,000 of these go to the US, 1,5000 to the UK and the rest elsewhere worldwide.

Only about 100 packages a year are insured (always optional - at buyers cost)

During the past year, 2 of my sendings have been lost (those were suspicious - same customer), and two apparently arrived empty.

The 2 losses + 1 empty were to the US, the other was within the UK.

In all 4 cases, I replaced the items concerned - the cost to me of doing so was about $48 - out of total sendings of about $90,000.
