It's true but if you check a few more numbers, you'll find it isn't just a phone # database, it's because Google found it listed somewhere on the web.

It's not just Google... most other search engines will find the same.

For entertainment search your own name and see what you find. It's amazing.

I did my business phone number and came up with this.

Your search - 1-414-351-17## - did not match any documents.

(I removed the numbers) I also did my Fax number and private home number and got the same results.

But if you are looking, don't forget (###) ###-#### version, where I found.

So my number turned up and my fax number, in a listing from a business directory, a road rally entry and SIC industrial code search.

I was partly responsible for one listing, and it appears on a SCCA club website, in PDF form, on a road rally entry form.

I don't think there's any way to escape this?

By the way, my listed, personal number does not appear anywhere and I've had the same number since 1970.

In order for your number to be in a web search, it must be in a document on the web, and found by the spider.
