This is not a hoax. It really happens.

This morning I received an email from someone I used to work with. In it she told me that if I went to http://www.google.com/ I could type in my phone number with the area code and it would show my home address. I tried it and it worked. This is real scary!

Think about it. If a child, single person, or ANYONE gives out his or her phone number, someone can actually now look it up to find out where he or she lives. Safety issues are obvious. And I've been told that if you try it at Mapquest a star will actually appear to show where your house is located. I haven't checked out Mapquest yet, but I will.

If you want to block "google" from divulging your private informatiion, you can click on the telephone icon next to your phone number. You will be directed to a link where you can remove your information.

I suggest you let all your friends and family know about this safety issue.
