Re: The "real" Haddix story.

Adcock's "double" sailed into the bleachers of County Stadium - by all appearances a three run homerun. But when he passed Aaron between second and third, he was ruled out - rendering the hit officially a double (since second base was the last base he legally touched). He never scored. Aaron never scored. When the lead runner scored from second base - Felix Mantilla - the game was over 1-0. A 13 inning 1-hitter loss for Harvey Haddix, the first 12 innings of which he was perfect.
