Great reading Mark! You nut! Pink Honda. Please find a picture to post. I bet some will pay for that!!!!!! Now that Pam mentioned digging you can give us some bottle digging stories. Mark & I are also fellow bottle collectors- for me the empty kind from 100 or so years ago. Mark I am not sure! I need to brag here about digging the Sunrise Mountain dump for the first time when I was about 12. I was really into bottles then. Still am. Never found much. Later a fellow digger sold me a Club Bingo ashtray (now I got your attention!!!) from the strip. The 6 sided like the Sahara pyramid I think Pam has & so does Mark. One of my favorites- both the ashtrays are. My tri lobe 1951 Club Bingo is nice too. Cant wait to go to LV this week & dig through them 1,000 trays to scan for Mark for the site. Please support this great effort!
The dump is at the top of Vegas Valley but I think you have to go around another way. Its been years. There were dumps out Las Vegas Blvd. past Hacienda on way to CA. We called it snake dump as I tried to catch a rattler- (one of my daring things!!!!) Pulling it out of the hole I figured it couldnt turn around & get me! Good thing I let go before I got it all the way out. The white snake in the ocean in Aruba I tried to catch I later learned was deadly so worse than the little rattler. The dump was more 50's to 60's. Found a nice cone top ABC Brewing beer can. Unbelievable nice shape almost perfect & a few good bottles. Casino china & most bottles were all busted up. Nearly got burried digging in the bank of this big hole in the ground. I should see what is there now if I can find it. Off Shelbourne St. I recall. I seem to remember everything. Still! Even after collecting way to much stuff!
Have I told anyone the story of the jackrabbit & my 99 Mustang Saleen outside of Tonopah? Will save that for another time....
Or going 150 in that car in 4th gear? (the thought of another jackrabbit or huge cow would not let my arm shift to 5th to try 185). Or the ticket I talked myself out of from going 97 mph. after racing through most of NV. at 120 or so?
I better go pack for Vegas.....
