If it's DSL you're talking about, the phone company needs to move closer to you. I have the same situation here. No DSL available, by a distance that I could hit with a rock. If it's cable connection via webTV or any other system, your cable provider needs to upgrade and make it available.

As to the subject of the thread, I use Norton AV, Zone Alarm firewalls and Cookie Cruncher software to protect both my machines and my privacy.
