My son handles all of the "housekeeping" stuff on the computers. I asked him, and he said that he Defrags once a month do to the minimal usage of the computer. He said he runs a virus scan of some sort weekly.

What is hard to understand is why the system won't boot at all. The lights don't ALWAYS flash when you push the power button. Also even if the Bios were "Screwed" why wouldn't the computer boot to some sort of BIOS setup page or at least show up some sort of error. Right now it's just dead. I know laptops are completely different from their desktop counterparts, but there should still be some things that are similar.
