if it did, what did you do about it and what was the outcome?

I was auctioning some chips on eBay. Several of the chips had bids on them. When the auctions were finished I sent out invoices. One person paid me using PayPal but, that person was having the funds taken from a credit card and I'm not able to receive payments from credit cards. In my listings I stress the fact that payment has to be with a money order, a cashiers check, or a personal check if they don't mind waiting until the check clears. My invoices also state this fact. No credit cards. When I received notification from PayPal about the payment I was advised that if I accepted it I would automatically be upgraded to a Premier account and would have to pay charges for each transaction. I declined the person's payment and sent an email informing him/her again that I cannot and will not accept credit card payments. That person's response to me was this email that they sent me:

"I will only pay with pay pal and only will use a credit card. I'm sorry you do not take card payments. Please get with pay pal and refund the amount paid to you."

I checked my PayPal account and the funds have not been deposited to my account. I emailed the high bidder again and said for him/her to check their Paypal account because the money should have been returned to his/her account. I haven't heard anything back yet as to whether they've checked their account.

I contacted eBay, after finally finding where I could actually send them a message. Boy, they don't want to be contacted very much, do they? Anyway, after laying out what happened, I got an email back from eBay saying they'd be in touch with me in approximately 36 hours.

If you had something like this happen to you I'd really like to know what you did about it and I'd also like to know if there's a way I can prevent this from happening again. Thanks for letting me blow off steam.
