Re: Just in case someone isn't paying attention...

Thanks for sharing your experience, Debby. I hope more people will listen before it's too late. Chipco doesn't deny it. Red Chipcos bleed. They bleed onto flips. They bleed onto each other or any other chip they're stacked with.

The "loss" of red color doesn't seem to degrade the bleeding chip, at least not in the early stages of bleeding. If it bleeds onto another chip, it will damage that chip. If it bleeds onto a flip, then rotates in the flip, the red can migrate back onto other parts of the chip and damage it. Even without rotation, the red can "blur" due to the migration.

My experience after over a year is, they don't bleed onto airtites, probably because of a minimum of "surface" contact. The lack of PVC may help. Chips don't rotate so easily in airtites. Dansco Supreme binders and frames like Tiny Treasures are also probably safe for long term storage.

Also worth saying again, I've experienced damage to Bud Jones chips with printing on the surface after long term storage in PVC flips. The ink actually bonds to the flip, and then the chip cannot be removed from the flip without tearing the ink off.
