I assume you mean the soft plastic type of holders. It has my experience that the softer the plastic, the more likely the material that the holder is made of can interact with the dyes used in manufacturing casino chips. ...something to do the the chemicals used to make the plastic pliable. You'd be better off storing the chips in the cardboard holders with the stiffer plastic "windows" or the very stiff airtights.
