I agree, but....

there's always a but! Seriously thought, this line of thought would indicate that it is quite acceptable to repair an accidently damanged chip (say a crack). In the same way that a vintage car with repaired bodywork is generally considered less valuable than a completely genuine, never been repaired car (sorry, but this is the best scenario I can come up with!), so I would consider any repaired chip to be less valuable than a non-repaired, original. That holds true whether the repair was to fix an accidental or deliberate fault/break/cancellation.

No answers I'm afraid, other than wanting people to stop altering/fixing/faking chips for any reason, although I reluctantly accept that it MAY not be illegal and will probably always happen in some instance - it should just be the policy of the club to dissuade anyone from doing such things!
