I find no fault with ANYONE making a profit on the merchandise they are selling.
In Rene's case the fault I find is him constantly throwing it at us about how much He is doing for our hobby, when in true fact the only reason he is here is to make as much money as he can.
These chips in them selves were a great idea and yes I would like to have every one of them.
But being forced to BUY eight admissions to get them is out of the question.
IMHO anytime you have to PAY out money to get something FREE, it is no longer free. In this case OK, you can maybe consider the first one free because you have to pay admission to get in anyway, BUT you are then PAYING $35 to get the other seven $1 chips no matter how you look at it and that is what stinks.
Agreed, I also don't care for the extended sets some casinos are issuing and I don't buy them.
BUT this set is going to be considered, by club members, as club memoribilia and would be put in with all other club stuff that a lot of us have been collecting for the past eleven years and you can bet Rene took this into consideration in his new money making scheme.
OK OK I would now burn my soapbox in the fireplace, except I don't have a fireplace.
